IOD MARCH DUET CONTEST

We’re very excited to announce the release of our first collection with Creative Imaginations! In honor of the shipping of Loolah and Beloved in April, we are holding a contest for the whole month of March. We’re very proud of our collections, and the more retailers that order it, the easier it is for you guys to get it!! So....

Go find your favorite retailer and get them to come join the fun of our fanpage so they can keep up with the latest IOD products available to them and then and here’s the fun part..... you BOTH get entered into a drawing for $100 prize package of IOD product! 

You can enter as many retailers as you want, and each time you’re entered again for the drawing. So get busy!! 

There will be ONE thread on which your entry will be counted, so please have you and your retailer post to THAT thread and only post once per retailer that you are entering. The thread will say "ENTER MDC HERE" and you can find it on our fanpage here!

Every member of the IOD fanpage is eligible for this contest, so if you’re not one, what are you waiting for??

MORE CONTEST DETAILS

Ok, so if you haven't been over to the fanpage tonight then you don't have the latest news. Lesson learned, huh? JOIN the fanpage silly, it's where all the latest and most up to date info is posted. We ofcourse will keep our bloggety going, but it'll be mostly for our longer posts and anything more personal. The fanpage is all about IOD stuff and only about IOD stuff ;-) 

Anyhow, now that I'm done with my scolding you sillies, back to my point hee hee.

NEWEST CONTEST DETAILS:

So the AWESOME news is that the contest is now including the RETAILER in the prize winning! Bot the customer AND the retailer will receive a $100 retail value prize!! Isn't that awesome?? Creative Imaginations is the absolute awesomest!! So, here's the NOT so great part, LOL. the winners will have to be patient, because DITZY me didn't realize that our new collections won't be shipping until late April, and they have to first ship to all the retailers that purchased the collections. Both winners will receive their prize in about 6-8 weeks, so about Mid to late May ;-O. I'm sooo sorry about that part! Ok, MORE GOOD news to end with, LOLOL. Canada is included in the contest! (sorry to all other international IODers but it will only be open to Canada and the US) All my little kanooks, please keep in mind that the taxes and duties will be the winners responsibility ;-)

We're having sooo much fun playing on our fanpage and if you're not yet a member, you can click on the module to the lower left there and join! We have a monthly inspiration challenge and the march challenge prompt is 

 Look in your closet. What color do you see the most of?? Create a monochromatic layout using this color!

When you're done you can post it in the photo album labeled IOD March Inspiration Challenge. I can't wait to see what you create! 

We'll still be posting to the blog from time to time, when we have something lengthy to say or talk about, or when it's of a more personal nature. For the everyday action, however, make sure to connect with our fanpage! IOD CHA make and take

Here's the instructions for a quick make and take that we posted on our facebook fanpage. We originally did this at CHA with the new loolah collection. It's not exactly inspired brilliance or anything, lol, but it's a fun little afternoon project. 20 minutes or so?  

At the show we actually changed a few things up and the project looked a bit better, I suggest you do the same. The changes were making one lady buy slightly larger than the other, and putting a paper flower underneath the smaller, a white daisy preferabbly. If you don't like changing things or aren't comfortable ammending the instructions, no worries, just go by the book and it'll be just like the pic!

  

supplies and dimensions

loolah border paper- 4x6 

white cardstock- 2.5x3.5 and 4/ 1.5 inch circles 

twinkling H2O’s - blue ice and poppy red

luminarte shimmering mist- key lime

black photo corners- 4

small black buttons-2

black ink pad- any kind

adhesive- glue dots (tiny and large) and general paper adhesives

B.E. postcard chipboard by Creative Imaginations (you can substitute a 4x6 size piece of chipboard if need be)

paintbrushes

corner punch rounder

magnets for the backside

steps

1. corner punch loolah paper and adhere to postcard chipboard
2. spray 2.5x3.5 white cardstock with key lime heavily
3. crinkle paper while wet (just once, too much and it tears)
4. dry with heat embosser 
5. go over crinkled paper with paintbrush filled with blue ice TH2O’s hitting just high spots
6. dry and set aside
7. paint circle white card stock with poppy red TH2O’s both sides of two and one side of two as well as the edges of the 2.5x3.5 piece and edges of postcard and dry with heat embosser
8. ink all circles on edge with black inkpad and use the end of the paintbrush to press into ink pad and put dots on two of the red circles
9. fold the dotted circles in half and glue down using small glue dots along fold line to the red side of the other red circle, centered
10. glue down 2.5x3.5 paper to the postcard and adhere black photocorners into the corners just 1/16 inches in from edge
11. apply lady bugs as desired and complete with black buttons for ladybugs’ heads

This is what happens when a crafty gal starts a MOPS group!! ETA pic!

I'm so excited about our first Craft day for our MOPS group over at EPCMOPS . We're going to have a blast because I just got back from CHA (had a GREAT time seeing old friends and making new ones and best of all came home with some FUN new goodies for my MOPS gals to play with. So if you're a mother of a teeny one (5 or under) and living in the sacramento area, come join us! (I'll post a pic of what we'll be making in a bit) 

Jos and I are so excited about starting the next phase of our IOD adventure with Creative Imaginations! We were truly blessed to meet the team from CI at the show and find that they were even sweeter in person than you could imagine. There really isn't a better bunch to work with! If you didn't get a chance to see our collections that were debuted, here they are:

The alpha you see in both collections is a brand new concept developed by jos and I! We arranged an entire alpha (and then some) into word art so that you get to use the negative squares as well! Who doesn't have a bunch of leftover Z's and Q'x and X's right? Well, we've shown you what to do with those as well as provided a double value by being able to use the backing as well!

I have fun new things in store for our blog to keep it rolling to, k? I know we've been very negligent but it continues to be something I want to be better at, so I think we've come up with a great solution to keep this bad boy fresh ad updated with the latest IOD schtuff! To walk in Heaven's eternal light...

I've been working since 8am this morning on a project that is already overdue and that I NEED to finish today. After a lot of good progress my software (photoshop) crashed and I lost all my work. It was my own dumb fault for not stopping to save, but I was on such a roll I forgot. I wanted to scream. Cry anything to rid myself of my intense frustration. Instead I called my sister for a sympathetic ear and hopefully some software advice. Instead she was the voice of Christ to me which is what I needed more than anything. "Slow down, take a deep breath and remember it's how you respond that can determine wether you go further down this road of anger or not. " I'm paraphrasing, but that was the jist. sigh. I wanted to yell at her and a year ago I would have. Praise God for growth. I stopped and listened.

Before beginning work again I decided to start off with a quiet moment with the Lord. I don't have my devotional, so instead I googled it ( gotta love technology) and read this excerpt:

I would arise in all Thy strength
My place on earth to fill,
To work out all my time of war
With love's unflinching will.
Firm against every doubt of Thee
For all my future way-
to walk in Heaven's eternal light
throughout the changing day.

and this scripture:

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. PSALM 73:2

So time for me to begin again. I asked the Lord to please multiply my remaining time as only he is able. If he doesn't, well I still trust in him for what results. That's the point right? "throughout the changing day I'll walk in heaven's eternal light" good, bad or otherwise :-)
