Check out this gorgeous Fall project by Sally Lynn MacDonald! Thanks so much Sally for taking the time to put together a great tutorial for the Build a Bauble stamps!
Prima’s Build A Bauble Stamps and coordinating gems are so much fun to work with. Here I’ve decorated a plain pumpkin into a pumpkin princess. Let me show you how they work.
What you’ll need for this project:
· Build a Bauble stamp set #812614
· Assorted Gems. I used #400163, #400057, #400286, #400330
· Transparency Film (for masks)
· Stazon Ink, in black
· A light colored ink
· Assorted flowers
I start by stamping several of the gem shaped stamps onto a piece of transparency film. You can find this at office supply stores, or you can use clear packaging material. Cut out the images and put them into a Ziploc bag for storage with your stamp set. It is best to stamp at least three of each shape so you can use more than one at a time.
Now stamp your selected flourish onto your project, using a light colored ink. This is for placement purposes only.
Place your gem stones in a pattern that pleases your eye.
And then replace the gems with their accompanying masks. You can put a little temporary adhesive underneath them if you wish, to hold them in place.
Now re-stamp your flourish, positioning it over the light colored image. The masks will resist the ink, and you will have perfect positioning for your gem stone stamps. Stamp the accompanying gem stone stamps into the spaces left by the masking.
Put your gems in place and voila! You’ve build a Bauble!
Take advantage of clear materials, such as the Build-A-Book acrylic pages too. Create your design and then you can either place other gems on the opposite side, or color with Copic Markers for a double-sided embellishment.
Have fun creating beautiful backdrops for your bling!
Thanks again, Sally, I can't wait to make one of these pumpkins! seriously beautiful!
