anatomy of a hybrid layout....

Good morning loolahs. 

so last night I signed off by telling you I was gonna scrap. And scrap I did. :-)

I had the digital portion of a hybrid layout sitting and waiting to be printed in my computer and it was calling my name " Sally, print me, print me and cover me with lavish embellishments... I deserve it. If you love me, you'll cover me in flowers and chipboard" 

So here it was before I printed:

and Here it is after I printed and used real life embellies to give it texture and dimension :-) I also like to hand journal whenever possible, I didn't used to feel that way, but as I've told alot of you my mom recently started scrapbooking and when I saw her handwriting on a layout it almost brought me to tears and I suddenly realized how personal it made it... ok, I digress....

So, as you can see, I added some LOFT felt flowers, IOD clear tape, Times chipboard alpha and some hand journaling of her milestones at 9 mos :-) 

for the digi portion I used some kraft color paper from something blue studios over at Catscrap.com and the stamp is by Nancy Rowe Janitz over at scrapartist from her history stamps and her inked overaly from her digital tool kit (both ofthose items are VERY old and not sure she is still selling them....)

I made the backdrops for my flowers and chipboard letters... if you want more stuffs like that to set off your physical embellies we've made some for Prima product in our shop at www.primahybrid.com .

forgot to mention... today is my 15th wedding anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

I'm so blessed to have my husband. He is the light of my life and a gift from God. just thought you should know :-) Ok, here is a challenge in light of my anniversary.....

I want you to scrap a layout about how you are blessed by someone dear to you in your life. maybe your husband, maybe a best friend, boyfriend.... etc. if you do, I'll post it here on my bloggity!

any Iphone users???

ok LoOhLaaas. (pronounced looh-laws, definition: good friends and gals I love)

If anyone has an iphone and is as addicted to Apps as I am, I have a new one that is AWESOME for scrapbookers!!! it's called my diary and it's PERFECT for me! basically, it's a simple concept, which is also perfect for me :-) you type in your entry and it autodates it, but what's awesome is you can also do keyword searches. so here's what I do. if I'm entering in a milestone for phoebejane, then I precede the entry with MILESTONE. if it's a garden journal entry I precede it with GARDEN... if it's something cute the girls said, i precede it with SHEsaid. so when I'm scrapbooking and I want to pull up some of this stuff and remember what happened on what day, there it is, simple as pie. LOVE it. ok, so what would be even awesomer... is if you could attach photos to the entry! is there an app like that? if not, an app creator REALLY needs to make that... or even a dictaphone or video attachment ( I have the dictaphone app, which I use to record cute things my girls say, lol) 

so, there you have it, some of the very important uses for my Iphone!! lol.... that's all for now I think.

color me excited....

LOL. i know, i know... cheesey title :-) but truly I wanted to focus on the funNESS of my next class at the Green Tangerine... First see picks below, then I'll explain a few things....

 

Yep. That's right... I'm doing a two page layout this time! This will be the first time I've not done a mini album I think :-). The nice part is it gives everyone a chance to play with the IOD paintables in a $29 class! At the risk of sounding like a used car salesman, I'm going to tell you that this really is a GREAT value! We'll be learning several techniques on coloring and customizing the paintables (If you've not heard of them, theyr'e what you see as the background in the pictures and they're colorable scrapbook paper that is heavy weight and watercolor texture to stand up to most anything you throw at it!), It's a 3 hour class from 10am -1pm on Saturday 6/13/09 so we'll have PLENTY of time to take our time coloring and enjoying the process! Those of you who've taken my paintables classes know this, but if you haven't you're really in for a treat. It's so much fun to color your own paper! Just like when you were in Kindergarten but without having to worry about staying in the lines (more on that in the class :-)

below is an album i'm working on with the kit, which is hybrid ( I created an overlay in photoshop )... i printed some graphics right on thier cardstock and then painted with the sakura paint pens... FUN!!
